Frozen Coins are objects introduced inSuper Mario Bros. 3. They appear in a few games of theSuper Mario series. They arecoins encased insolid ice that can be melted byfire to be collected.

Super Mario Bros. 3 /Super Mario Advance 4: Super Mario Bros. 3[edit]
Frozen Coins first appear inSuper Mario Bros. 3 at the end ofWorld 6-7, and then appear throughoutWorld 6-10. The player can melt the ice and collect the coins within by using theirFire form's fireballs. InWorld-e of theremake, Frozen Coins are first seen in a bonus room ofSlip Slidin' Away, then throughoutIce Cubed.
New Super Mario Bros. Wii[edit]
Frozen Coins are objects in the levelWorld 9-7 inNew Super Mario Bros. Wii. They can also be melted by fireballs from aFire Piranha Plant or aFire Bro.
New Super Mario Bros. U /New Super Luigi U /New Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe[edit]
Frozen Coins are objects in the levelPiranha Plants on Ice inNew Super Mario Bros. U and the levelSlippery Rope Ladders inNew Super Luigi U, reprising both roles inNew Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe. Frozen Coins appear slightly wider and with more ridges.
Super Mario Maker 2[edit]
Frozen Coins are objects introduced in the version 2.0 update forSuper Mario Maker 2. They exhibit the same behavior as in previous games. Frozen Coins can be melted by any fire-based course element exceptlava, and the melting process is noticeably faster as well. In theNew Super Mario Bros. U style only, the spells used by theKoopalings can melt Frozen Coins. When aP Switch is activated, the Frozen Coins turn into frozen versions ofBrick Blocks (Rotating Blocks in theSuper Mario World style). Frozen Brick Blocks, unlike their normal counterparts, cannot be broken bySuper Mario.
