Flurl (known asRessar in the European EnglishGameCube version) is aJungle Buddy ofDonkey Kong inDonkey Kong Jungle Beat, who first appears inJungle Deeps. Flurl is a large red squirrel with a giant tail, and its name is a combination of "float" and "squirrel". While usually only one can be seen at a time, two appear on-screen at one point inNinjape Rally.

Flurl occasionally appears sleeping in a tree. If Donkey Kong grabs Flurl's tail, he can use Flurl as parachute and glide through the air. This allows Donkey Kong to collect someBeats while airborne and access normally unreachable areas.
