Fleet Glide Galaxy is agalaxy inSuper Mario Galaxy 2, located inWorld 5. The level features many mechanical parts and takes place on a rocket ship. Like theWild Glide Galaxy, this galaxy involvesFluzzard gliding asMario orLuigi needs to rideFluzzard through obstacles to get aPower Star. Enemies here includeMagmaarghs andbats. Manyballoons also appear scattered at different points throughout the galaxy.
Planets[edit]
Starting Platform[edit]
In this planet, theJibberjays ask the player if they want to rideFluzzard. ABill Board explains the controls andFluzzard himself is also found there.
Fleet Glide Planet[edit]
The Fleet Glide Planet is split up into five distinct areas.
Magmaargh Area[edit]
The area is one vast pool of lava. The only inhabitants areMagmaarghs which rise and try to burn the player andFluzzard. The first gate is located here. There is also a tunnel that leads to the second area. During theFastest Feathers in the Galaxy mission, there areUndergrunt Gunners in this area.
Metal Block Area[edit]
This area features many mechanical intrusions such as engines and poles. There are no enemies located in this area during the first mission, but during thesecond mission, there are Undergrunt Gunners in this area. The player can go under the planet to find the second gate.
Thwomp Tunnel[edit]
The area is one long tunnel. The only inhabitants are a fewbats, twoThwomps, and threeBanzai Bills that shoot out from cannons near the end of the tunnel. The third gate is found here. During theFastest Feathers in the Galaxy mission, two Undergrunt Gunners are added in this area.
Collapsing Room[edit]
This is the largest area in the level. When the player first enters the area, three pillars slowly begin to fall. Not only that, but a gate at the end of the area slowly closes. If the player is not fast enough, the gate closes and the player crashes and loses a life. Many poles also serve as impediments. There are no enemies in the area except during thesecond mission; there are Undergrunt Gunners in this area. The final two gates are found in this area.
Airship Area[edit]
The final area has a cage, containing theComet Medal. The player needs to have passed through all five gates to get it, though. Undergrunt Gunners andAirships that fireBullet Bills are also present and may try to knock down the player andFluzzard. During thesecond mission, there are even more Undergrunt Gunners and Airships than the first one.
