TheFishhook (parsed asFish Hook in British English) is aThing inPaper Mario: Sticker Star. It is found atOutlook Point behind aSecret Door. The Secret Door outline is found at the bottom of the ledges in front of the sticker shop. Unlike other rooms accessed through a Secret Door, the room that contains the Fishhook is a cave that opens out to the water. The Fishhook remains inMario'sAlbum until it is turned into asticker at aSling-a-Thing station. Once it has been used as a sticker, it returns to its original position. It may also be purchased from theShady Toad for 100coins and sold as a sticker for 20 coins.

As a sticker, the Fishhook takes up four squares in the Album. When it is used in a regular battle, the background retracts as the Fishhook is lowered behind the foreground. Tranquil music plays as something tugs at the Fishhook. Depending how fast the player pressesA Button to retract the line, the sticker the Fishhook brings up varies. PressingA Button right on the first tug or using aLeaf awards the player with aMegaflash Jump. If the button is pressed after the first tug, that results in aBig Shiny Jump. PressingA Button after 2 to 4 tugs results in aShiny Jump. Failing to perform theAction Command or prematurely pulling up the Fishhook results in aWorn-Out Jump.

The Fishhook is needed to pull theBig Cheep Cheep out of the water atSurfshine Harbor. After returning theShip's Wheel and cutting ship's rope with theScissors, a Big Cheep Cheep prevents the boat from progressing. Mario must start a battle with the Big Cheep Cheep and use the Fishhook when the Big Cheep Cheep enters the water. This pulls the Big Cheep Cheep onto the dock and prevents it from entering the water again.

The Fishhook can be placed into theSticker Museum as #56.
