TheFirst Map orPractice Map[1] is the tutorial board ofMario Party. It is accessed by choosing theWarp Pipe inMushroom Village and picking "Hear Game Rules". It takes place on a picture ofToad's head surrounded byCoins and! Blocks. As such, thespaces form an outline of the head. When this board is chosen, the game automatically choosesYoshi,Mario,Luigi, andPrincess Peach as the players. TheDice Block rolls are predetermined so Toad can explain different aspects of the game, including how the turn order is decided, the functions of the various spaces, how aMinigame is decided, the function of the characters on the board, andBonus Stars.
