Faraway Oasis is the second race course of theShell Cup inMario Kart World. It is also the final destination of theMoon Rally and the fourth checkpoint of theCloud Rally. Set within a large savannah near the southern forest region of the game's map, the course is populated by various animals such as elephants, zebras, and giraffes. It is located in the southeast section of the world map. The track's layout bears similarities to bothDK's Jungle Parkway and a mirroredRiverside Park, and is internally named after the former. The connection with the latter, however, is more overt in the Japanese version, where the course is named "Riverside Safari".Pianta andConkdor can be unlocked here with theKamek item.
Outside ofMario Kart Live: Home Circuit, this is the firstnew course in the series' history to be in the Shell Cup along withCrown City andPeach Stadium.
Course layout[edit]
Racers start at a building called Toad's Wharf. Racers then turn right, briefly go across muddy water, go up a curved wooden platform, then onto long rock. Racers jump off this rock onto a second rock with a rail in the center, then a second wooden platform that leads down, eventually going into the clean river. To the right hand side of the water are the animals that can appear during routes. On the left hand side of the river is a third wooden platform that can be used as an alternate route. Both the river and the platform lead into a cave, then onto a waterfall, before turning left back to Toad's Wharf.
Routes[edit]
There are two distinct paths that enter Faraway Oasis, depending on the route taken to reach the course. Traveling fromCrown City,Koopa Troopa Beach,Dino Dino Jungle,Cheep Cheep Falls, orPeach Stadium has the racers enter from after the final turn, just before the starting line. Traveling fromPeach Beach,Salty Salty Speedway, orGreat ? Block Ruins has the racers travel under the large jump on the course, jump onto the waterfall at the end, then traverse the final corner of the regular course before starting the final lap. Faraway Oasis can be reached from any course in the Banana Cup via routes in VS Race.
The routes both ways between Crown City and Faraway Oasis take place on Crown Bridge, which includes a few large trucks for drivers to hijack. Different animals will appear on routes in both directions depending on which other course Faraway Oasis is connected to or nearby. In all cases, the animals run in the same direction as the drivers.
- With Cheep Cheep Falls and Salty Salty Speedway, buffaloes will appear.
- With Peach Beach and Great ? Block Ruins, giraffes will appear. From Great ? Block Ruins, crocodiles will also appear.
- With Crown City and Peach Stadium, both giraffes and ostriches will appear.
- With Dino Dino Jungle and Koopa Troopa Beach, zebras and elephants will appear. With Koopa Troopa Beach, armadillos will also appear.
- The route from Great ? Block Ruins to Koopa Troopa Beach passes near Faraway Oasis and includes giraffes, elephants, and zebras.

Notes[edit]
- The music in this course uses a12
8 time signature, a trait shared with the music fromThwomp Ruins,Athens Dash, andSalty Salty Speedway. - Similarly toStarview Peak andMoo Moo Meadows, the filename for this course's sticker on the website forMario Kart World suggests that this course is internally named afterDK's Jungle Parkway. The reason for this is unknown, but the route of this course is similar to DK's Jungle Parkway.
