Electric goop, also known asgreen goo,[1] is a type ofgoop appearing only onSirena Beach inSuper Mario Sunshine. Its color consists of a mixture of teal and yellow, and it has electricity visibly surging from it. Electric goop is similar toburning goop, since it damagesMario, except even the smallest speck of electric goop can damage him. Additionally, an electrocution effect is shown when Mario touches electric goop, showing his colors inverted momentarily while briefly stunning him in the process. ThePianta cleaning staff members ofHotel Delfino are somehow unaffected by the goop, butNokis sink into it much as Piantas andToads do in regular goop. Electric goop, like other goop sources, can be cleaned only fromwater shot byFLUDD or similar sources. Unlike both regular goop and burning goop, electric goop never spawnsGoobles.

InEpisode 1,Phantamanta covers a large portion of the beach in electric goop, causing Hotel Delfino to become stuck underground (much astrees and other structures do into regular goop). Phantamanta spreads goop behind itself and its copies during the ensuing boss battle. After Mario defeats Phantamanta, all of the goop disappears and the hotel rises back out of the ground. InEpisode 6, electric goop is shaped like a smilingBoo and covers most of the beach in front of Hotel Delfino. Mario has to clean all of the goop off the beach within three minutes to earn aShine Sprite.

In promotional material forSuper Mario Sunshine, Mario is seen covered in this goop, but in-game, it is almost impossible to get covered since electrical damage takes priority and Mario has only one second of invulnerability before it damages again.
