Eldstar is one of the sevenStar Spirits introduced inPaper Mario. He is the elder ofStar Haven and is suggested to be the leader and the oldest of the Star Spirits. He has a large white mustache, white eyebrows, and dark green eyes.
History[edit]
Paper Mario[edit]
Eldstar, along with the other Star Spirits, visitsMario after his loss toBowser during the opening moments ofPaper Mario. While Mario is unconscious, Eldstar comes to him in a dreamlike state and tells Mario that he must go toShooting Star Summit. He then disappears, and when Mario asks theToad about it, he tells Mario that he did not see anyone go in or out.
When Mario arrives at Shooting Star Summit, Eldstar is waiting for him. He and the other Star Spirits tell Mario that Bowser has captured them, and that they are only talking to him through a spiritual link that will soon be extinguished. He tells Mario andGoombario that to stop Bowser and savePrincess Peach, Mario must first rescue the Star Spirits.
Eldstar is guarded by theKoopa Bros. inChapter 1: Storming Koopa Bros. Fortress and is the first Star Spirit rescued. When he is rescued, he grants Mario the powers ofRefresh andFocus. Refresh causes Eldstar to replenish Mario'sHP andFP by 5, and costs oneStar Power. Focus causes Mario's Star energy to be boosted, and does not cost any Star Power. Eldstar later appears along with the rest of the Star Spirits inStar Haven when they give Mario theStar Beam.
Mario Party series[edit]
Eldstar appears as the guide of Party mode inMario Party 5. He is also collectible inMario Party: The Top 100 alongside the rest of the Star Spirits once the player has unlocked all returning minigames fromMario Party 5.
Super Smash Bros. Brawl[edit]
Eldstar cameos inSuper Smash Bros. Brawl as aSticker that raises launch resistance by six.

Eldstar's Hint: When you see a "!" mark, explore.
"Mario, my boy! When you see an "!" on the Field Screen, press "A" to investigate. You may find hidden switches or other things that will open closed roads. Hitting trees with your Hammer is also a fine idea. You may just knock down coins or other items that are stuck in branches."
Make sure to search bushes, signs, and other places that catch your eye. Stand next to a tree, then use your Hammer.
Tattle[edit]
Goombario can useTattle on Eldstar only as a projection when Mario visitsShooting Star Summit for the first time but before talking to theStar Spirits. He andMisstar are the only Star Spirits who can be tattled on.
