Dr. Mario-kun is a manga series written by the duoAoki Kei & Mikamaru and published byKodansha'sComic BomBom.

Its run began in January 2003 and ended in December 2007 when the Comic BomBom ceased publishing their magazine, amounting to 59 monthly chapters (no chapters were published for the issue of July 2007) that were never published intankōbon form.

It featuresDr. Mario and his friends fighting against various monsters that the ThreeVirus Brothers (Blue, Red, and Yellow) dispatch on them, only for them to be regularly beaten with somecapsules tossed at them. Some chapters cover events from games that were released during that period, such asSuper Mario Sunshine,Mario & Luigi: Partners in Time andSuper Paper Mario.

A special chapter calledMade in Wario, based on theWarioWare series, was released on March 2005.

Since 2012, the authors started a campaign on their social media calling for the manga to receive a book publication.^[1]^[2]
