Directional Blocks[1] are objects inSuper Mario 3D Land. Each of these purpleblocks has an arrow on each side. A Directional Block can be hit from below by eitherMario orLuigi to make it travel in the direction it points to for a distance that is roughly half of its height/width, usually allowing the player character to access certain blocks and collectible items. A Directional Block's positions can be reset by restarting thelevels in which Directional Blocks appear.
