Deep Freezes are an ice-themed variant ofWildclaws that appear as enemies inMario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope. Unlike Wildclaws, Deep Freezes do not prematurely pursue and attack the heroes if they are attacked outside of their turn, though they can still only attack at close range. In addition to their regular attack, Deep Freezes can use a technique known as Blizzard Burst to unleash a wave of ice that damages and inflicts Frostbite on all heroes within range of the attack, preventing them from moving on their next turn. Once a Deep Freeze's HP is fully depleted, it flashes blue and then uses Blizzard Burst one last time before being defeated. Deep Freezes are weak to Burn and resist Frostbite.

This latest mutation of Cursa's has been integrated perfectly into the environment on Pristine Peaks - a cunning and aggressive predator that works to immobilize its prey by getting in close and freezing it still. Even in defeat it is a threat, launching a final, glacially-charged explosion that chills to the bone all Heroes within reach. As one would expect, it is especially vulnerable to fire.

• The description for the Frost Claw attack originally incorrectly stated that it inflicts theFrostbiteSuper Effect on targets, when only the Blizzard Burst Technique and defeat explosion cause it. This was fixed in one of the patches for the game.
• When a Deep Freeze uses its Blizzard Burst Technique against a hero and also hits one of the summoned creatures, there is a chance that they will receive the attack's damage, but not the Frostbite Effect, even though they are not resistant to it.
