TheCurlup R is a stronger version of aCurlup inMario & Luigi: Brothership. Only one appears in the game, during the side questMonster Mania: Level 3 onPetit Islet. The Curlup R has purple shell and white belly, differing itself from normal Curlups. TheMonster Maniac claims these creatures got their high hit point value from snacking onHeartBeans; however, he does admit that they may have eaten too much.
Battle[edit]
Mario andLuigi must defeat the Curlup R to clear the side quest. The enemy is level 40 and has 35,000 HP, the highest HP amount of any enemy in the game (even higher than the final bossReclusa who has 19,912 HP in total). It fights exactly like a normal Curlup, having the same attacks.
Inflicting theBurn status via the Fiery AttackBattle Plug on the Curlup R makes it lose 10,500 HP per turn.

- At 35,000 HP, Curlup R possesses the highest amount of HP of any enemy in theMario & Luigi series, including bosses. In fact, Curlup R possesses more health than the final bosses of allMario & Luigi games up until and includingMario & Luigi: Brothership (Cackletta Soul,Elder Princess Shroob,Dark Star Core,Dreamy Bowser,Shiny RoboBowser, andReclusa) combined.[1]
