Crystal Blocks[1] are objects inSuper Mario 3D World andCaptain Toad: Treasure Tracker. Theseblocks are made out of an amethyst-shaded crystal similar in appearance and function to normalBrick Blocks, in that they shatter when hit, unless they are hit bySmall Mario. Unlike Brick Blocks, Crystal Blocks never have items inside.
Crystal Blocks appear as course elements inSuper Mario Maker 2, where they replace regular Brick Blocks in the underground and forest styles of theSuper Mario 3D World style. This now allows Crystal Blocks to have contents. They also appear in the background of the underground level theme in theSuper Mario 3D World style, which itself is based onKoopa Troopa Cave.
