Crumble Blocks[1] areblocks that appear in theDonkey Kong andMario vs. Donkey Kong series. They are made of small, loosely packed pale yellow-brown rocks. A Crumble Block falls apart shortly after aMini or an enemy walks over it. AThwomp can also destroy Crumble Blocks by falling onto them. InMario vs. Donkey Kong 2: March of the Minis, a single row of Crumble Blocks will stop a Thwomp's descent and cause it to rise back up.
Similar blocks known asrocks appear inMario vs. Donkey Kong: Tipping Stars; however, unlike Crumble Blocks, rocks do not crumble if a Mini walks over them, and can only be destroyed byHammers, a Thwomp, or a Mini fired from a Cannon or aCannon Kong.
History[edit]

InStage 8-2 inRocky-Valley, walking over Crumble Blocks sets a group ofChikuchiku, which are trapped under the Crumble Blocks, free.Stage 9-7 in theTower consists almost entirely of Crumble Blocks.
Mario vs. Donkey Kong[edit]
InMario vs. Donkey Kong, Crumble Blocks first appear inDonkey Kong Jungle, where they act essentially the same as inDonkey Kong for the Game Boy, except they collapse slightly faster. They also appear inFire Mountain,Mystic Forest, andFire Mountain Plus, and have different appearances depending on the world in which they are found.
Mario vs. Donkey Kong 2: March of the Minis[edit]
InMario vs. Donkey Kong 2: March of the Minis, they are introduced inRoom 2-7 ofTropical Island. In theConstruction Zone, they can be used in the Tropical Island construction kit,Special Kit 1,Special Kit 2, andSpecial Kit 3.
Mario vs. Donkey Kong: Mini-Land Mayhem![edit]
InMario vs. Donkey Kong: Mini-Land Mayhem!, Crumble Blocks are introduced inArea 3-2 ofTeatime Twirl. They behave identically to their previous appearance; however, in this game, they can also be destroyed if a Minislides into them from a steep slope, or if a Mini touches them after it is fired from aCannon. Thwomps can also destroy Crumble Blocks; however, unlike inMario vs. Donkey Kong 2: March of the Minis, a Thwomp will break any Crumble Blocks in its path without stopping until it hits solid ground.
