Co Gasagoso are tinyScuttlebugs that debut inPaper Mario: Sticker Star. In this game, they only appear in theWorld 3 stageRustle Burrow. Co Gasagoso cannot be battled, but chaseMario if he gets close to them. If one of them touches Mario, he moves slower andjumps lower until it is removed, very similar toMini Goombas in other games. They can be defeated by hitting them with ahammer, aSuper Star, or astomp. Defeating one results in getting acoin or a jumpsticker, unless a Super Star is used, in which case only the coin drops.
Co Gasagoso reappear inPaper Mario: The Origami King, where they are found in theTemple of Shrooms (and generically referred to byProfessor Toad asspiders) and act the same as inSticker Star, while now using the current design of their parent species. They are first seen when they drop from the ceiling on Mario in the first room of the Temple of Shrooms, then later surrounding the first faceless Toad Mario encounters and in King Shroomses's tomb.
