“Welcome to Clockwork Castle! Here at Clockwork Castle, DK and Bowser move around the board after everyone has taken a turn. DK walks around during the day, and Bowser roams at night. They move in the opposite directions. If you catch DK, you can buy a Star from him for 20 coins! But beware of Bowser! If you land on his space, he'll rob coins or Stars from you! Enter a Warp Pipe to instantly teleport to the other pipe of the same color. If you need to escape from Bowser or catch DK, don't hesitate to hop into a Warp Pipe.”
Brighton,Mario Party 6

Clockwork Castle is an unlockable board inMario Party 6. There are four areas that make up the board: the courtyard,Brighton's Temple,Twila's Airship, and the castle itself.Warp Pipes are located on the top and bottom parts of the board (three on each side) that warp players from one side to the same colored pipe on the other side. At the sides of the board, there are branching paths. One side has platforms that, if players ascend, break them and make that path unavailable. The platforms then respawn on the other path. This process repeats itself. The other side, if players descend, has unbreakable platforms that are supported by propellers.

This board gets the most out of the day/night system.

At daytime, there are multiple traits:

  • Players traverse board clockwise
  • Brighton gives gifts when someone lands on his? Space on the east.
  • The red and green pipes are active on both sides of the board
  • The west side has breakable platforms and the east side has unbreakable platforms.
  • Donkey Kong travels around the board, giving out stars to players that get to him or when he gets to them. Unlike other times when a Star is offered for purchase, players cannot decline purchasing the Star. Once a player gets to DK, he changes position on the board. After all four players take their turn, DK then takes his own turn by rolling theDice Block (or two if he eats abanana prior to rolling the Block) and lands on another space, making that the newStar Space.

During the night, the following changes:

  • Players traverse the board counterclockwise.
  • Twila will give out the gifts if players land on her ? Space on the west
  • Only the green pipes will be active.
  • The east side has breakable platforms and the west side has unbreakable platforms
  • DK transforms toBowser. He grants players that get to him or if he gets to them with aShadow Star that takes away a Star or 20 coins if they do not have a Star. Also as with DK, Bowser changes board position once a player gets to him. If the player has both no coins and stars, and they get to Bowser, Bowser still gives them a Shadow Star for 0 coins and changes position. However, if Bowser passes the player and the latter does not have any coins or Stars, Bowser always gives 10 coins to that player. After all four players take their turn, Bowser then takes his own turn by rolling theDice Block (or two if he breathes fire prior to rolling the Block) and land on another space, making that the new Shadow Star Space.

Landing on a ? Space near the pipes on the bottom side randomly changes the colors of the pipes, so that they also change where players end up when they are used. Landing on the ? Space at the back of Twila's ship gives players a chance to get anOrb by using a fishing rod to fish it out of the clouds. If they get aBob-omb, they lose all of their Orbs. The ? Space behind Brighton's Temple summons a UFO that takes the player back to the start. If the player lands on the ? Space in front of Brighton's Temple during the day or Twila's airship in the night, Brighton or Twila appears in front of their respective homes and make two treasure boxes appear. One treasure box has a star inside, and the other has coins. The ? Space at the top of the castle gives players a chance to change the time of day, but there is only a 50/50 chance that it changes.

Donkey Kong and Bowser are unaffected by roadblock Orbs. They also do not break the ascending platforms. As they travel around the board, they pick branching paths at random. They also stop only onBlue orRed Spaces that a player is not occupying. In addition, anyCharacter Space they land on is eliminated. If Donkey Kong and Bowser reach the player with a low amount of moves left, since they do not warp after reaching a player, it is possible for the players to interact with them twice in a short span, once during Donkey Kong and Bowser's turn and the second time during the player's turn.

Clockwork Castle is the only board that does not have a DK Space or a Bowser Space (and, by extension, their respective minigames).
