Chomp boxes[1] are artillery fromSuper Mario Galaxy,Super Mario Galaxy 2, andSuper Mario Galaxy + Super Mario Galaxy 2. They resembleBanzai Bill Cannons, but they are flat with the surrounding ground and releaseChomps. Only one Chomp box appears in the firstSuper Mario Galaxy on a saucer-shaped planet in theGood Egg Galaxy during "King Kaliente's Battle Fleet." It is covered in green camouflage and has two turrets: one that releases large Chomps, and one that releases slightly smaller ones. ThreeBill Blasters are embedded into its top. Doghouse-like variants calledlittle houses[2] appear in theDreadnought Galaxy during "Dreadnought's Colossal Cannons" and releaseMini Chomps.
Chomp boxes are more common inSuper Mario Galaxy 2, most prominently in theChompworks Galaxy, where multiple appear on several different planets, each with a different exterior. It is implied that Chomps are created in thisgalaxy, though Chomps launched from Chomp boxes are always destroyed. Their trajectory brings them either off thesides ofplatforms or into an obstruction that shatters them. Chomp boxes are otherwise embedded into the walls ofRightside Down Galaxy andFlipsville Galaxy.
InSuper Mario Maker,Super Mario Maker for Nintendo 3DS, andSuper Mario Maker 2, placing a Chain Chomp into a Bill Blaster makes it fire Unchained Chomps.
