"Choco Mountain",[1] also known as "Choco Mountain/Battle Arenas"[2] or simply "Mountain",[3] is a musical theme composed byKenta Nagata forMario Kart 64, where it plays inthe race course of the same name, as well as in thebattlecoursesBlock Fort andDouble Deck.

Mario Kart 64[edit]
Mario Kart 64 marks the first appearance of "Choco Mountain". It is also included in the official soundtrack albumsMario Kart 64 Race Tracks andMario Kart 64 Original Soundtrack.
Mario Kart DS[edit]
InMario Kart DS, an arrangement of "Choco Mountain" arranged byShinobu Nagata plays inN64 Choco Mountain. The composition has been modified to fit the game's soundfont, alongside some minor alterations.
This arrangement does not play in Block Fort like the original theme did inMario Kart 64, instead playing "Battle Course" just like all of the other Battle courses.

Mario Kart Tour[edit]
InMario Kart Tour, the original version of "Choco Mountain" plays inN64 Choco Mountain, which was first added in the2020 Exploration Tour.
Mario Kart 8 Deluxe[edit]
InMario Kart 8 Deluxe, as part of Wave 1 of theBooster Course Pass, an arrangement of "Choco Mountain" plays inN64 Choco Mountain. This arrangement is country-inspired and feature a harmonica, fiddle, banjo, and electric guitar. It is likewise titled "N64 Choco Mountain" in theNintendo Music app. A looping drum set beat is added to the instrumentation whenever the player is driving at top speed while in first place.

Mario Kart World[edit]
InMario Kart World, ametal arrangement of "Choco Mountain" plays when racing in Choco Mountain. When approaching Choco Mountain from aroute before reaching the course's finish line, a prelude arrangement of the theme plays, featuring a guitar riff that resembles the beginning of the theme that plays on the opening cutscene fromMario Kart Wii. The entire track is likewise titled "Choco Mountain" in the game's pause menu.
The intro cutscene for theLightning Cup is mostly an arrangement of the prelude version of "Choco Mountain".
