Ceiling Surprises, also known aswhite danglers,[1] are smiling light pinkghosts that hide on the ceiling and drop down to startleLuigi inLuigi's Mansion andits remake. They are generally coupled with another common ghost, usuallyBowling Ghosts, especially in the Area 2 and 3 hallways. During theblackout, they appear in the Area 1 hallway, and in the 3DS version's Hidden Mansion, they appear in the left Area 4 hallway on the third floor. They have abomb-dropping variant calledPurple Bombers. Defeating the Ceiling Surprise in theBottom of the Well is required to obtain thekey to theRec Room. Ceiling Surprises are the weakest ghosts: Other than having zeroHP, they are incapable of attacking Luigi. Ceiling Surprises always drop a 10- or 20 HP-restoringheart when vacuumed but not if defeated from an element.
Creepers fromLuigi's Mansion: Dark Moon andTrappers fromLuigi's Mansion 3 have a similar attack strategy to Ceiling Surprises.
