ACarrot[1][2] (alternatively lowercase),[3] also referred to as aMagic Carrot,[4][5] is an item that appears inSuper Mario Land 2: 6 Golden Coins. It transformsMario intoBunny Mario, butWario also uses it to transform into Bunny Wario.[6]
A sentient Carrot appears inSuper Mario-kun, first appearing in the last chapter ofVolume 6, where she helps Mario defeat aRagumo andBopping Toady. When theSuper Mario Land 2 arc properly starts in thenext volume, Carrot, turned into a proper character, joins Mario on his adventure, giving him the Bunny Mario powers whenever he touches her. In personality, she resemblesLuigi from the previous story arc, in that she is more reasonable and smarter than Mario, always getting angry at him whenever he does something foolish. During the final battle, Carrot gets hypnotized by Wario and turns evil, granting him the Bunny powers, but is later freed. More carrots appear in later chapters and volumes, but they are just normal, non-anthropomorphic carrots. One of those carrots, sold by Wario in Volume 6, turnsBowser into an ox.
Carrots appear inMario Kirby Meisaku Video briefly. After Mario crashes hiskart during his pursuit of the mysterious thiefW, who was trying to escape in his plane, theBulldog, Mario finds a garden full of Carrots, eats one, and transforms into Bunny Mario.
