Capcom (clipped compound of "CapsuleComputers") is a Japanese company that manufactures and distributes electronic game machines. Well-known for creating multimillion-selling franchises such asMega Man,Street Fighter,Resident Evil,Monster Hunter,Devil May Cry, andAce Attorney, the company has manufactured many Japan-onlySuper Mario–franchise arcade games. The company's official mascot,Mega Man, managed to appear in the German magazineClub Nintendo comics alongsideMario, and is playable (along withRyu fromStreet Fighter) inSuper Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS /Wii U andSuper Smash Bros. Ultimate. TheStreet Fighter characterKen Masters is also playable inSuper Smash Bros. Ultimate. On April 1, 2019,Sega took over technical support for Capcom's arcade machines that were still being supported.[2][3]
