Cage-in Cookin' is aBowser minigame inMario Party 5 and a Free-for-Allminigame inMario Party: The Top 100. Its name is a pun on "Cajun cooking."

Introduction[edit]

The game starts with Bowser stepping off his throne. The camera pans to reveal the four players trapped in cages.

Gameplay[edit]

This is one of the three Bowser minigames inMario Party 5, and it appears as one of the random Bowser events activated when a player lands on aBowser Space. The object of this minigame is to escape from the cage to avoid being burned by Bowser. In order to get out of the cage, each player must press the buttons that appear on the cage's lock as fast as possible. Pressing the wrong button prevents action for a brief time. After a player presses a total of eight randomly chosen buttons, their character's cage opens, and the character runs outside the cave to safety.

Like all other Bowser minigames inMario Party 5, this minigame takes place on a large mountainous Bowser statue, particularly inside the mouth.

InMario Party: The Top 100, the first player to escape wins. Players now have a fixed 10 seconds to escape; those who do not escape within the time limit automatically get last place.

InMario Party 5, if at least one player escapes, the camera pans to the escaped players, who are relieved. If all four players escape, the "draw" jingle plays, and Bowser gets frustrated as the players do their relief animations. If nobody escapes, Bowser burns everyone and then laughs.
