Burts,[1] also known asBurt Jr.'s[2] orBurt Brothers (alternativelyBurt Bros.[3][4]), are round, peach-colored enemies with large red noses, blue and white striped pants that go up above their hands, and blue shoes.

Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island /Yoshi's Island: Super Mario Advance 3[edit]
Burts debut inSuper Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island and return in theGame Boy Advance version. They attack in pairs. Afterjumping on its partner, a Burt will get a big boost, and the same goes for aYoshi if it jumps on a Burt. If one was defeated, the other would jump non-stop, but if one falls into apit orlava, the other will be motionless forever. If defeated, they will give twostars or threecoins. They cannot be eaten, nor can they be defeated when jumped on, but they can be disposed with anegg or a ground pound.
Burt the Bashful was originally a normal-sized Burt, but was made bigger byKamek.
Sprites found in the source assets ofSuper Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island prototypes include a smiling, nightcap-wearing creature otherwise closely resembling Burts, but appears to walk normally.[5]
Yoshi's Island DS[edit]
Burt Brothers return inYoshi's Island DS, retaining their behavior in its predecessor. TheBig Burt Bros. were originally normal-sized Burt Brothers but were made bigger byKamek.
Yoshi's Woolly World /Poochy & Yoshi's Woolly World[edit]
Burts return inYoshi's Woolly World andPoochy & Yoshi's Woolly World, retaining their behavior in the previous games. They also have red shoes in this game like Burt the Bashful, who also returns as a boss.
Yoshi's Crafted World[edit]
Though no normal Burts appear inYoshi's Crafted World, a new inner-tube variant calledBeach Burts were introduced. A notable Beach Burt namedBurt the Ball acts as the boss inChilly-Hot Isles and guards the yellowDream Gem.

- Player's Guide:Follow thebouncing Burt! Give up? Then throw an egg at him and he'll cough up three stars.[1]
- Shogakukan guide (Game Boy Advance version): 2匹ひと組で、ピョンピョンはねまわる。ふみつけてもつぶれるだけで倒すことはできないが、タマゴやヒップドロップなどで倒せばスターを3つ出す。[7] (They are a pair of two, and they hop around. They cannot be defeated by stepping on them, but they will produce three Stars if they are defeated by an egg or aHip Drop.)
