Bug Birdie is one ofWario'smicrogames inWarioWare, Inc.: Mega Microgame$! and returns as one ofWario Deluxe's microgames inWarioWare Gold.
Gameplay[edit]
The player must haveWario (as a dung beetle, though he refers to himself as a cockroach) push the golf ball directly behind into the hole before time runs out. If Wario falls into the hole, the player loses the microgame, though if he falls in with the ball, it still counts as a win.
- 1st level difficulty: The hole is large, and the ball is close to it.
- 2nd level difficulty: The hole is2⁄3 of its original size, and the ball is further from it.
- 3rd level difficulty: The hole is1⁄2 of its original size, and the ball is even further from it.
WarioWare Gold[edit]
The timer is twice as long, and Wario can wrap around the screen. Unlike the original, Wario cannot fall in with the ball. In this version, Wario does resemble a cockroach rather than a beetle.

- The description inWarioWare Gold says that Wario woke up to find that he had turned into an insect, which may be a reference toThe Metamorphosis byFranz Kafka.
- A slightly extended 16-beat version of the background music can be heard in WarioWatch inWarioWare Gold, the difference being that the second half ends with a slightly higher trumpet tone.
- InWarioWare: Get It Together!, the roach's voice clip can be heard inSlime Time after clearing Level 1.
