ABubble Baby Yoshi is a blueBaby Yoshi appearing inNew Super Mario Bros. U. It can blow outbubbles if the player shakesWii Remote or presses theZR Button button onGamePad when the character is grabbing one. InNew Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe, bubbles can be blown out by tappingR Button. These bubbles are able to instantly defeat most enemies, turning them into threecoins (six coins from certain larger enemies), aSuper Mushroom, aFire Flower, anIce Flower, aSuper Acorn, or a1-Up Mushroom, which the player can collect. Whether an enemy turns into coins or a power-up is random, though coins are the most common. If an enemy turns into a power-up, which one is produced always depends on what current form the player is in:Small Mario andMini Mario yield a Super Mushroom,Super Mario yields a Fire Flower,Fire Mario yields an Ice Flower,Ice Mario yields a Super Acorn, andFlying Squirrel Mario,Power Squirrel Mario,Propeller Mario,Penguin Mario, andPeachette yield a 1-Up Mushroom.

Bubble Baby Yoshis can be seen on theworld map inFrosted Glacier andRock-Candy Mines and can be met and taken to any other course except forcastles andtowers. Players also have the ability to bounce on the bubbles to reach higher places. A Bubble Baby Yoshi also adds a chorus to the current music, one he himself creates.

A Bubble Baby Yoshi appears in a challenge in Challenge Mode, where Mini Mario must use his bubbles to reach the top of the stage. Also, Bubble Baby Yoshis are found in someRed Toad Houses alongside other Baby Yoshis. Two Bubble Baby Yoshis also appear in the credits minigame, where they blow out bubbles that contain coins.

A Bubble Baby Yoshi also appears inMario & Luigi: Paper Jam, on a collectibleBattle Card alongsideBlue Toad.

A power-up inSuper Mario Bros. Wonder called theBubble Flower gives the user the same powers as a Bubble Baby Yoshi.
