- “What you will get is a
Bronze Star. If a
Power Star is what you seek, you must reach it by yourself.” - —Cosmic Spirit,Super Mario Galaxy 2
Bronze Stars are items similar toPower Stars thatMario can get only inSuper Mario Galaxy 2. They are almost exactly the same as normal Power Stars, except that they are bronze instead of gold and are depicted as being dull and rusty. They appear only if Mario asks theCosmic Spirit to activate the Cosmic Guide mode. If this happens, all of the level's Power Stars immediately become Bronze Stars. On rare occasions, the player can cancel the Cosmic Guide and collect an alternate star as a Bronze Star instead, making additional Bronze Stars possible.
Bronze Stars still add to the player's Power Star count, but if they wish to collect a regular Power Star, they have to play through thelevel without the help of the Cosmic Spirit. However, even though Bronze Stars are counted as part of the player's Star total, they must not have any Bronze Stars in order to unlockGrandmaster Galaxy. BronzePrankster Comet Stars can be found only inWorld S, while only one BronzeGrand Star exists in the entire game, inBowser Jr.'s Fiery Flotilla.
