ABorp is a purple bush-like enemy with a frowning mouth, two teeth, and three pale yellow star-shaped flowers on its body. It appears inMario & Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story and its3DS remake. Their name is a corruption of the word "burp." They are only encountered atCavi Cape.Bowser can punch them for extracoins, butMario andLuigi have to fight them. In battle, Borps attack by spitting out yellow blobs at the Mario Bros. However, the target of the attack is the opposite brother of the one who was initially telegraphed (for example: an attack telegraphed to Luigi will instead go to Mario.) Their attacks cannot be countered by jumping and hurt Mario and Luigi if they do so. The Borp's attacks are also capable oflowering their power if their attacks hit the Mario Brothers. These enemies are usually encountered in a group consisting of three or four Borps.
Borps reappear inMario & Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story + Bowser Jr.'s Journey, also appearing as enemies in theBowser Jr.'s Journey mode. They are ranged troopers, and are weak to fire attacks fromFire Bros. andFire Stalking Piranha Plants due to being plants.
