Blue Blazes, also known aswater smashers,[1] are blue normalghosts encountered inLuigi's Mansion andthe remake. They areBlue Twirlers with water protecting their heart. They have 30HP. Blue Blazes normally appear only in theSafari Room although the PAL Hidden Mansion also has one in theTea Room during the blackout and two in theTelephone Room. The Blue Blaze attacks by slamming the ground, creating a tremor that takes away 10 HP fromLuigi on contact. Blue Blazes can be vulnerable if Luigi sprays ice on them from thePoltergust 3000.
The term "blue blazes" is a euphemism forHell, used in expressions such as "What in blue blazes?"
