ABlue Balloon is an item in theDonkey Kong Country series. It is identical to aRed Balloon, except, as its name indicates, it is colored blue. InDonkey Kong Country,Donkey Kong Country 2: Diddy's Kong Quest, andDonkey Kong Country 3: Dixie Kong's Double Trouble!, it serves as a type of Extra Life Balloon[1] and grants threeextra lives.
Blue Balloons return with a different purpose inDonkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze andits Nintendo Switch port, where they can be obtained atFunky's Fly 'n' Buy for fiveBanana Coins. IfDonkey Kong (orFunky Kong in theNintendo Switch version) equips a Blue Balloon, it grants extra air underwater.
