Blaze the Cat is a character from theSonic the Hedgehog franchise, introduced to the series inSonic Rush. She is featured in theSuper Mario franchise only as a recurring playable character of theAll-Around type in theMario & Sonic series.

Blaze is the fastest All-Around character alongsideLuigi inMario & Sonic at the Olympic Games. Her power rating is shared withMario. The opening shows Blaze participating in110m Hurdles. She is voiced byErica Schroeder (credited as Bella Hudson), her original voice actress fromSonic Rush.
Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Winter Games[edit]
Blaze reprises her role inMario & Sonic at the Olympic Winter Games. The opening shows her participate inMoguls andIce Hockey. Her corresponding minigame in Adventure Tours isMove the Blocks!, where she melts ice blocks and moves character blocks to their corresponding panels.
Mario & Sonic at the London 2012 Olympic Games[edit]
Blaze returns with the same role in theWii version ofMario & Sonic at the London 2012 Olympic Games. Her voice actress is nowLaura Bailey, fromSonic Free Riders. The opening shows her at the start with other athletes, as well as competing inSynchronized Swimming andDream Uneven Bars. There is an updated athletic wear of theMii outfit of her. Blaze is also a non-playable character in London Party mode.
Blaze is part of the Girls group in theNintendo 3DSversion and is playable only in certain events. There is also an obtainablebadge of her from the badge machine. Blaze is first seen in Story Mode withPeach, defeating someimposters to protect someToads before savingDaisy andAmy. Blaze later destroys thefog machine atHyde Park, whichRouge leads them too after being freed from being brainwashed, and decides to stay in Hyde Park with the other characters. Blaze later calls to supportMario,Luigi,Sonic, andTails when they faceBowser andDr. Eggman. Blaze is at the opening ceremony. In the bonus episodes, Blaze helps Peach, the Toads and Amy deliver invitations. Blaze challenges but loses to Amy at an Olympic Event when she asks Blaze to give Sonic's invitation personally. Some time later, after concluding thatBowser andDr. Eggman got invitations, Blaze decides to return to the hotel but decides to go shopping with Peach, Daisy, Amy and the Toads instead.

Blaze appears again inMario & Sonic at the Sochi 2014 Olympic Winter Games. She is an All-Around character.
Mario & Sonic at the Rio 2016 Olympic Games[edit]
Blaze appears as a playable character inMario & Sonic at the Rio 2016 Olympic Games. She participates inDuel Beach Volleyball during the opening.
Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games Tokyo 2020[edit]
Blaze reappears inMario & Sonic at the Olympic Games Tokyo 2020 as a playable character. She is seen participating in100m during the opening. She is among the characters whose outfit depends on the event. Her voice actress was changed again toErica Lindbeck.
Thearcade version added Blaze as a playable character on July 22, 2020. Here, she has good speed, above average technique, and average power.
Super Smash Bros. Ultimate[edit]
Blaze appears as aspirit inSuper Smash Bros. Ultimate. She grants the "Mouthful of Curry" effect, which allows the equipped fighter to breathefire repeatedly.
