ABlarggwich,[1] originally known as aSupport Ghost,[2] is a monochrome,Flatbed Ferry-toppedBlargg that first appeared inSuper Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island.

Yoshi series[edit]
Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island /Yoshi's Island: Super Mario Advance 3[edit]
Support Ghosts are rare, appearing in only one level,Sluggy The Unshaven's Fort. AYoshi canjump onto and freely move around atop the Flatbed Ferry carried on a Support Ghost's head. Once stepped on, it moves along a set course, occasionally stopping and stretching upward, leading the Yoshi to both traps and helpfulitems. Support Ghosts appear similarly to another creature known as theliquid lift, which not only appears earlier inSalvo The Slime's Castle, but is also a water spirit that is thinner, lacks eyebrows, has smaller eyes, and moves in a gentle loop in a big room.
Yoshi's New Island[edit]
Blarggwiches reappear inYoshi's New Island under their current name. Only one regular Blarggwich is featured as the main gimmick of the thirdworld's speciallevel,Ride the Blarggwich. Avariant between two Flatbed Ferries also appears inCount Fang's Castle.
Super Smash Bros. series[edit]
Blarggwiches return inSuper Smash Bros. Brawl,Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS, andSuper Smash Bros. Ultimate, where they appear in the stageYoshi's Island. This type perpetually acts as an extra platform over a deep pit, and players can jump onto it to avoid falling. However, it appears only at random moments.

Naming[edit]
Blarggwich's original name, Support Ghost, is literally "support ghost". Meanwhile, their current name is a portmanteau of "Blargg" and "sandwich".
