Black Fairies are darkfairies that appear inDonkey Kong Jungle Beat. They are projectiles fired from the mouths ofTar Men,Tar Fish,Hard Roc, andThunder Roc that fly for a short time before forming into aBlack Fairy Attack and flying towardDonkey Kong. If he touches a Black Fairy Attack, he losesbeats (a heart in theNew Play Control! version). However, if Donkey Kong uses theSound Wave Attack to deflect the attack toward the source, it will damage the enemy, though in later battles they will repel them repeatedly in a tennis-like manner. Additionally, deflecting Black Fairies before they merge into a Black Fairy Attack will always cause the source to repel them. They will continue to launch the attack for Donkey Kong to deflect it three or more times and defeat them.
