Thebig bad wolf, or simply thewolf, is a villainous, yet somewhat refined, anthropomorphic wolf who lives inWinterland in theThe Super Mario Bros. Super Show! Although he will go to any length to devour a defenseless human, the big bad wolf works alone, and refuses to share or cooperate with any other predators. The big bad wolf is shown to have several spare winter coats, which are actually wolf skins. Whether the big bad wolf wears them over or in place of his natural skin is unknown.

History[edit]

WhenPrincess Toadstool travels toWinterland to visit her sickgrandmother,Mario,Luigi, andToad stay behind in the village to gather firewood, leaving Princess Toadstool alone and defenseless. As Princess Toadstool continues onwards through the woods to reach Gramma's house, the big bad wolf spots her, and remarks to himself that if can beat her to Gramma's house, he can quickly ambush and eat her.

The big bad wolf eventually arrives at and sneaks into the cottage, but is beaten to the punch byKing Koopa, who had already lured Gramma away, and is dressed up as her. The big bad wolf and King Koopa get into an argument, but King Koopa orders hisKoopa Troopas to tie up the big bad wolf and get rid of him.

Later on, the big bad wolf loans his spare winter coats to Mario, Luigi and Toad, which they wear to scare off King Koopa, who eventually captures Princess Toadstool and Gramma. Grateful for their rescue, Princess Toadstool tells the big bad wolf that he is not such a big bad wolf after all. The big bad wolf assures her that while he is big and bad, he just does not want King Koopa cutting in on his territory. Before leaving, the big bad wolf tells Princess Toadstool to remove the red hood she had been wearing, as it is not a safe thing to wear in the woods.
