Berlin is exclusive to the PC version ofMario is Missing!. It is part of the third level set (alongsideSydney,Kathmandu,Buenos Aires, andDublin), all of whichLuigi has to visit in order to defeatWendy O. Koopa. Just like all the other cities inMario is Missing!, Berlin was invaded byKoopa Troopas. The enemies steal artifacts from various local landmarks: ahorseshoe from the statue on top of theBrandenburg Gate, apark bench fromUnter den Linden, abrick from theBerlin Wall, andSophie Charlotte's Crown fromCharlottenburg Palace. Luigi is asked to recover all of the artifacts byMayor Laabs.

Luigi comes to help! City authorities, baffled by the recent thefts of famous artifacts have invited Mario and Luigi to solve the crime. Spokesmen for the Brooklyn pipefitters said that Mario is missing, so Luigi will arrive alone. Rewards have been offered for the safe return of the stolen goods.

Berlin indirectly appears in the NES version ofMario's Time Machine, asMario travels back to theBerlin Wall's destruction in 1989.

Berlin reappears inMario Kart Tour, introducingBerlin Byways in theBerlin Tour themed around it, which also includes a new course based on the city. Oddly, its second route, Berlin Byways 2, was introduced first. The course labeled as the first route, Berlin Byways, would not debut until theMetropolitan Tour. The third route, Berlin Byways 3, debuted in the2022 Anniversary Tour.
