- —Board,Super Mario Galaxy 2
Battle Belt Galaxy is agalaxy in the gameSuper Mario Galaxy 2, located inWorld 6. The galaxy is unique in that in order forMario orLuigi to advance, he will need to defeat every enemy on a planet. The enemies start easily with foes such asGoombas,Hot Urchins,Li'l Cinders, andCrabbers. However, the planets will get progressively more complex with enemies likeJack O'Goombas,Boos,Li'l Brrs, andUndergrunts. On the final planet, Mario will need to defeat fourHoming Chomps using therubbery bulbs.A fiery version of Gobblegut is fought as a hidden boss when the player feeds aHungry Luma on theLi'l Brr Planet 20coins. The music of this galaxy is the same as the music of theSpace Storm Galaxy's first mission.
Planets[edit]
Starting Planet[edit]
The planet is a small brown planetoid that bears mathematical similarity to atruncated icosahedron. It could be referencing aSoccer Ball. The only enemy here is aMini Goomba. Defeating the Goomba will make theSling Star appear.
Li'l Cinder Planet[edit]
This is a small, brown planet covered in pools of lava. Only threeLi'l Cinders reside here and theComet Medal is found here, on top of one of the lava pools. There is also aBill Board here, who informs Mario that the only way to finish the level is to defeat every enemy.
Urchin Planet[edit]
This is a small, brown planet with threecrates and threeHot Urchins. AFire Flower is found here to help the player defeat the Urchins. The player can stand on a wooden crate and backflip to land on the Crabber Planet.
Crabber Planet[edit]
This planet is covered in sand and is generally small. The only enemies here areCrabbers, two red and one blue.
Jack O'Goomba Planet[edit]
The planet is shaped like aJack O'Goomba's head. There is a Warp Pipe being protected by a shield. There are three Jack O'Goombas on the outside of the planet. After they are defeated, a key will appear on the planet's nose which will deactivate the shield and the player will need to enter the newly openedWarp Pipe that leads inside the planet. Inside, the player will need to defeat sixBoos using the light from aGreen Shell.
Li'l Brr Planet[edit]
This is a small planet made completely ofice and shaped like a Li'l Brr. The only enemies here areLi'l Brrs. AHungry Luma can be found here and will ask for 20coins. If the player feeds it the 20 coins, it will transform into theGobblegut Planet. The shape of the planet is geometrically similar to anicosidodecahedron. This planet is also one of three planets that appear on the cover ofSuper Mario Galaxy 2.
Gobblegut Planet[edit]
This is a small brown planet that the player travels to during theSnacktime for Gobblegut mission. On this planet, the player fightsa fiery version of Gobblegut.
Undergrunt Planet[edit]
The planet is small and grassy. It is the dot of theQuestion Mark Planet of theGusty Garden Galaxy fromSuper Mario Galaxy but with a few differences. There is a shield guarding aWarp Pipe. TwoUndergrunts dig around the dirt roads on the planet. After the player defeats the Undergrunts, a key appears that deactivates the shield and the player should travel down the Warp Pipe. Inside, there are threeSwaphoppers. Inside this area, the player needs to wait for thegravity field to change with the beat of the music. After all three Swaphoppers are defeated, the way to the final planet is revealed.
Homing Chomp Planet[edit]
This is the final and biggest planet of the galaxy. ThePower Star is being protected by a shield that needs a key to open it. On this planet, there are fourHoming Chomps. They will home-in on the player and try to ram into them. If the Chomps ram into each other, they will simply bounce off. The only way to defeat the Homing Chomps is to use the plethora ofrubbery bulbs located on the planet. After all four are defeated, a key should appear and unlock the shield, allowing the player to collect the Power Star.
