Banjo Bottom[1][2][3], also referred to asBanjo Tiki[4], is a high-rankingTiki Tak Tribe member based off of abanjo. As its name implies, the bottom of its body resembles the body of a banjo, while its eyes and feathers rest on the headstock. Unlike real-world banjos, which have at least four strings, Banjo Bottom has only three strings.
History[edit]
Donkey Kong Country Returns (3D /HD)[edit]
Banjo Bottom is first encountered inThe Mole Train, the boss level of theCave world inDonkey Kong Country Returns and its3DS andNintendo Switch ports. Banjo Bottom is supervisingMole Miners as they loadbananas intomine carts. When it spotsDonkey Kong andDiddy Kong, it blows a whistle, causing the moles to hop into the mine carts. Banjo Bottom then hypnotizesMole Miner Max to start theMole Train's engine. Near the end of the level, this further has Mole Miner Max fight the Kongs directly. Once Mole Miner Max is defeated, Banjo Bottom is left dizzy and vulnerable to attack. Attacking them and knocking them into the distance completes the level, or they can be left to recover and fly away to the same effect.
The transition for being defeated in levels of the Cave depicts Banjo Bottom's silhouette, except for in Time Attack mode.
In the final level of the game,Tiki Tong Terror, Banjo Bottom and the other high-ranking members of the Tiki Tak Tribe partake in a ritual converting them into hands forTiki Tong. The hands are destroyed in the battle.

InSuper Smash Bros. for Wii U, Banjo Bottom is mentioned inMole Miner Max's trophy description.
