TheBanana Barrels are an item that makes its debut inMario Kart Tour. They are thespecial skill ofDiddy Kong,Funky Kong, and theLight Green Mii Racing Suit. When used, the two barrels are mounted on the left and right sides of the player'skart. They continuously shoot outBananas ahead on the track, alternating which barrel fires with each shot. A total of 16 Bananas are shot before the barrels disappear. The Banana Barrels will disappear prematurely if the player gets hit and spins out. Bananas surround the player during a Banana BarrelsFrenzy. When Banana Barrels+ is active, the barrels also shootGiant Bananas alongside normal ones.

The Banana Barrels, along with theSuper Leaf, is the special skill of the fewest drivers inMario Kart Tour with only three drivers able to receive them.
