TheBadwagon is akart in theMario Kart series. It first appears inMario Kart 8. The Badwagon resembles a hot-pinkmuscle car with stereo speakers and aRoy Smooth Sounds logo on the rear. Theemblem is located on the hood. The vehicle's name is a pun on "bandwagon effect," a psychological phenomenon where individuals more easily conform to a trend set by a larger group of people regardless of contrary evidence.

Mario Kart 8 /Mario Kart 8 Deluxe[edit]
The Badwagon is a default kart body inMario Kart 8. Although muscle cars are typically built for speed, the Badwagon does not offer any ground speed boost (though it offers a water speed boost); it excels at weight and traction, while acceleration and handling are lowered. InMario Kart 8 Deluxe, however, it offers a speed boost on the ground, while the water speed and water handling are weakened significantly. The stereo speakers and the lights animate to the beat of the background music, while they are idle in the beginning of the race and briefly when the final lap jingle plays. It shares its stats with theTri-Speeder, theSteel Driver, theStandard ATV, and theGLA. Artwork of the kart shows that it hasfour-wheel steering, though it is not used in-game. It has the engine sound of a V-twin with loud and distinctive exhaust noise. A CPU-controlledPeach occasionally uses the Badwagon, paired with theStandard tires.
While this vehicle body is available right from the start inMario Kart 8, inMario Kart 8 Deluxe, it must be unlocked by collectingcoins. CPUKing Boo,Roy,Pink Gold Peach, andPetey Piranha occasionally use this body during races with theOff-Road tires.
Mario Kart Tour[edit]
The Badwagon returns inMario Kart Tour, where it is classified as a High-End kart. It offers longer-lastingMini-Turbo boosts and increases the amount of points earned for performing Mini-Turbos. It uses theRetro Off-Road tires (although an official screenshot shows it with thePipe Frame’s tires instead). Unlike its first appearance, the kart's speakers do not move and the lights do not flash. The game introduces two variants, a blue variant, simply named theBlue Badwagon, and a platinum variant, which is named theGrand Badwagon, as well as an orange flower-themed counterpart, which is named theFlowery Badwagon. All three are also classified as High-End karts.
Since its debut, the Badwagon is available in regular tour pipes, including the All-Clear Pipe. It is also a part of the Daily Selects lineup. The table below lists the kart's special availability by tour.

Super Smash Bros. Ultimate[edit]
The Badwagon appears as an Ace-class Shield-typeprimary spirit with two support slots inSuper Smash Bros. Ultimate. It is represented byPink Gold Peach'sMario Kart 8 artwork, depicting her driving a Badwagon. When used, thespirit increases movement speed. Its puppet fighter is aMetal Peach, fought on theMario Circuit stage, and the spirit can be obtained by defeating her in battle. Alternatively, the Badwagon spirit can be purchased fromFunky Kong's Shack for 4,000 Spirit Points at standard price.
