Autumn Mountain is a location inPaper Mario: The Origami King, a forest filled with autumn-colored trees and tall, grassy fields. It is the first area of the bluestreamer district, first entered via the tram inOverlook Mountain. During the tram ride to Autumn Mountain,Mario andOlivia meet up with a specialBob-omb who is set out on a quest to restore his memories. This is the first area explored in which they travel together. However, Bob-omb ends up being a bit of a nuisance, getting lost quite often and having to get rescued fromChestnut Valley to unlock theWater Vellumental Shrine.

Layout[edit]

Right after Mario, Olivia, and Bob-omb get off the tram, Olivia comments on its aesthetic beauty as the perfect place to make memories. Behind the tram is a pile of100-Coins. As they travel along the way, they reach a dried-up river. Bob-omb becomes excited and runs off. Olivia tries to warn him, only for Bob-omb to come back to correct his name. Despite this, she continues to name him incorrectly, now calling him "Bobby" for the rest of their adventure. When Mario and Olivia follow him down the stream, they reach a few boulders blocking the way. They decide to travel back up the stream only to find a dried-up lake. They find a boat they can use to travel to the blue streamer, but it cannot be used due to the lake being drained.

Mario must travel off to the right, crossing a field of dry, tall, patchy grass where several enemies andToads can be found. After navigating through the grass, it is discovered that Bob-omb became lost somewhere along the way. Olivia decides he must have gotten excited and run off like last time. Moving on, Mario and Olivia finally reach theWater Vellumental Shrine, but if Bob-omb is not with them, it cannot be entered as the door requires two people standing on the tiles to open. Fortunately, Bob-omb can be found on an area just off the dry field, hanging out with aSombrero Guy. As they try to cross the bridge, aPaper Macho Goomba appears on the other side. Thinking it is friendly, Bob-omb runs toward him and ends up getting knocked off the bridge. Mario must jump off the bridge (which he previously was unable to do as Olivia would warn him not to jump as he may fall off if an attempt to jump is made) and locate Bob-omb several times inChestnut Valley.

After rescuing Bob-omb, Mario and Olivia can enter the shrine. However, Bob-omb stays outside, not interested in exploring the shrine and finding theWater Vellumental. After the Water Vellumental is defeated and Olivia gains its abilities, they can all return to the dried-up lake and use the Magic Circle to restore water to both the lake and the stream. However, as none of them can use the oar to row the boat, they must first find the oarman, who is actually in disguise as the origami monkey atop a stack of cans. Mario must follow him around and hammer him to rescue the oarsman, allowing them to use the boat to reach theEddy River.

# 2	TheSea Captain Toad can be found near the tram station in the form of a flopping blue fish. The captain will return to the harbor inToad Town, granting access toThe Great Sea.
# 3 and 4	Right behind the tram is a pile of 100-Coins, and a Toad folded into a red autumn leaf. Additionally there is a yellow origami leaf Toad, hidden beneath a leaf pile.
# 5	On the edge of the dried-up lake is a crumpled red Toad next to the sign.
# 6	Near the tram in the patch of Tall Grass Plains, Mario can drop into a small cave with a red Toad stuck in the ground. Pulling them out rewards Mario a +5MAX UP Heart.
# 7	There is a red Toad hidden in the Tall Grass Plains to the left of the stairs. This Toad is intended to be found with use ofToad Radar.
# 8	A second Toad is hidden in the Tall Grass Plains just in front of the gap in the fence in the foreground. This Toad is intended to be found with use of Toad Radar.
# 9	Yet another red Toad is hidden in the field, near the exit leading to the bridge and the inward curve in the fence. This Toad is intended to be found with use of Toad Radar.
# 10	On the platform across the bridge is a tree Mario can hammer to drop a red leaf, revealed to be another Toad.
# 11	To the right of theWater Vellumental Shrine is a shortcut Pipe on a ledge next to a tree. Hammering the tree will drop a red origami leaf Toad.
# 12	While crossing the shrine bridges and avoiding origamiCheep Cheeps, Mario may spot a Toad disguised as a red origami fish leaping in and out of the water between the middle platform.
# 13	Close to the Water Vellumental Shrine is a Toad taped to the wall. Mario must navigate through a hidden tunnel and drop a boulder down to reach the tape.
# 14	Taking the shortcut Pipe brings Mario to a ledge above the dock. Here there is an origami dragonfly Toad flying about.
# 15	Above the dock is another ledge with an origami beetle crawling the wall. Hammer a nearby bush to reveal aMagic Circle and free the Toad with the1,000-Fold Arms.
# 16	Between the Water Vellumental Shrine andChestnut Valley is a secluded area with a bench and aNot-Bottomless Hole nearby. Patching this hole reveals afax station satellite office, with a Sensor Lab Toad jammed into the fax machine inside.
# 17 to 19	Required:Eddy River is filled After refilling the lake, Mario can reach a tree next to a pile of boats. He can then hammer the tree to drop down a trio of Toads, each disguised as an autumn leaf.
# 20 and 21	Required:Eddy River is filled Beneath the pile of boats is an origami beetle Toad, which crawls on the floor. Near the pile of boats Mario can find a yellow origami leaf Toad, resting on the edge of a crate.
# 22	Required:Eddy River is filled +Opened Can of Tuna After Mario and co. find they cannot row the boat, they must collect aCanned Tuna from the monkey and follow it into the grassy field. Then once theCanned-Food Par-tay Trio is reunited, theBone Goomba can open the can for Mario, which can be offered to the monkey to lure within hammer range and reveal the localOarsman.

Not-Bottomless Holes[edit]

In the area near the tram are 4 holes - one in the fence in the foreground, two in the ground near the tree, and one tucked away in the wall behind the tree.
At the end of the hidden cave underneath the tall grass field. This one must be repaired to get out of the cave.
In front of the wooden gate after the wooden bridge.
After going up the 3 sets of wooden stairs next to the wooden bench. This hole is transformed into a Sensor Lab's satellite office door.
On the side of the mountain, left of the bench and satellite office door.
On the right side of the cliff wall, near the bridge.
On the wall in a secluded area reached by a pipe on the right side of the shrine.
There are 3 holes left of the Water Vellumental Temple entrance, surrounding the ? Block.
Required:NavigateChestnut Valley. After leaving Chestnut Valley, this hole is seen on the wall to the right.
Required:Navigate Chestnut Valley. Continue from previous one to reach wooden stairs and wooden fence. In this fence is a hole. Mario has to drop down to reach another two holes.
Required:Eddy River is filled. The last Not-Bottomless Hole can be found on the ledge adjacent the lake, left of the treasure chest in the middle.
