TheAurora Block is an object inMario & Luigi: Partners in Time. This rainbow-coloredblock has the ability to grow to match the size of the heart of the person who strikes it, and it is celebrated in the Star Realm. TheStar Temple gate tasksMario,Luigi,Baby Mario, andBaby Luigi to find the Aurora Block, due to Luigi not passing the gate's test of worthiness.

The Aurora Block is located north of the Star Temple gate; when the four Mario Bros. hit the block, it flies back to the gate's location. Once they return there, Luigi is ordered by the gate to hit the block but is unable to do so, as it moves out of the way whenever he tries. The Star Temple gate then asks Luigi who found the block: him, Mario, or the babies. After three attempts to give an answer, the gate angrily says that the correct answer was the fourth, "Everyone!", then accuses Luigi of lying for pointing out the contradiction. After Luigi starts crying, Mario angrily objects and defends him, saying that Luigi was not lying. However, the Star Temple gate reveals that the task is just a test to measure their brotherly togetherness, and the gate then allows Luigi to hit the block, causing it to turn gigantic and flatten him, as it becomes as large as the heart of whoever hit it.
