Arrow blocks[1][2] (also formatted asArrow Blocks)[3][4][2] are objects in theYoshi's Island series. Theseblocks can be activated by eitherjumping or striking them with anegg, after which they causerough platforms to flip around, alternating between safe and harmful sides. They correspond to the colors of the rough platforms; hitting a red arrow block, for example, causes red rough platforms to flip. Arrow blocks are first found inSalvo The Slime's Castle inSuper Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island, having green and red colors. InYoshi's Island DS, arrow blocks are first found inBig Bungee Piranha's Lair, where they cause segmented tunneled platforms of the corresponding colors to rotate; arrow blocks that flip rough platforms appear inCastle of Priscilla the Peckish. InYoshi's New Island, arrow blocks are found inFort Key Calamity, having yellow and red colors.
