Arachnes are arachnid enemies found inRose Way inSuper Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars andits remake. They are named afterArachne, a character from Greek mythology who was turned into a spider, and their design is reminiscent of theJoro spider. They are some of the more powerful enemies the party encounters early in the game, though they are fought only alongside other enemies. Arachnes attack with their mandibles, and they may also use the special attackVenom Drool. However, they are weak to most magic attacks.

More powerful variants of Arachnes known asSpinthras are found inLand's End.
