Advance Coins,[1][2] also known asAce Coins[3] orA-Coins,[3] areitems inSuper Mario Advance 4: Super Mario Bros. 3. Thesecoins appear only in theWorld-e levels. Advance Coins are similar toAce Coins in appearance, except yellow instead of red. Unlike Ace Coins, they spin before being collected. One to five Advance Coins are in everylevel, and there are 147 Advance Coins in total. IfMario orLuigi collects all the Advance Coins in a level, he earns anextra life, similar to the functionality ofDragon Coins or Ace Coins. If the player gets enough Advance Coins, they can enter any of three special World-eToad's Houses, where they can play an exclusivemini-game. The player must collect 30 Advance Coins to access theBlue Mushroom House, 50 for theRed Mushroom House, and 80 for theOrange Mushroom House. Because a limited number of levels was released outside Japan, international players can collect up to 49 Advance Coins, making them unable to enter the final two Toad's Houses. However, the game'sWii U andNintendo Switch[4] releases make all World-e levels available by default, avoiding this problem.
