I’m actually excited for this. I’ve been having to reboot mine almost daily because it freezes and lags.
That sounds like a hardware issue rather than a software fault. If you are using an older model with active cooling, try cleaning the intake and exhaust vents on the underside of the device.

I get a kick out of the “don’t buy” buyer’s guide link. The current gen is still a good product even if it’s a few years old.
The reason for the "don't buy" is because Apple never cuts its price no matter how old it is. Imagine forking out good money on it for years-old tech only for a newer one to come out a few weeks or months later for the same price.

Pass through audio?
Nope…
This is the first thing I always check after updates.
Even if they ever allow it, I presume it would be on the newer/latest model…
I hope they bring that out soon…..
Hope dies last…..

It’s actually one of the newer 4K models. Thanks for the tips!

Was it ever confirmed that it will support all the HD audio formats? Haven’t been able to find much info on it, including on this site for some reason (it came to the Mac but no mention of HD audio formats):

I wish they’d increase the bitrate for iTunes content too, Apple could absolutely kill UHD blu ray if they wanted to
