External Certifications

The LY Corporation Group (the "Group") has established the initiatives to protect user information in its internal regulations and rigidly implements them. For objective assessment of these regulations, the Group has acquired and maintained international certifications in information security and privacy.

ISMS Certification

LY Corporation and some of its subsidiaries continue to implement the initiatives on information management based on the certifications acquired. These certifications include Information Security Management System (ISMS) certification ISO/IEC 27001:2013, the ISMS international standard, and JIS Q27001:2014 certification, the Japanese standard.
JIS Q 27001 (ISO/IEC 27001) is a standard designed to build a framework in which an organization is able to identify the information assets to be protected and to maintain and upgrade in a balanced manner the confidentiality, integrity and availability of each asset.

Acquisition of PCI DSS Certification (Level 1)

Before the merger, Yahoo Japan Corporation obtained the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standards (PCI DSS) certification, international data security standards for the payment/credit card industries to provide higher level of protection for users' credit card and transaction data in its Yahoo! JAPAN Wallet online payments service in November 2008, and for Yahoo! JAPAN Shopping and Yahoo! Auctions in November 2009. LY Corporation has succeeded this certification.

The certification obtained is the level 1 requirement, the most stringent requirement under PCI DSS geared toward participating merchants that handle a large volume of transactions. Through this certification, all systems related to information management and transaction processing of Yahoo! JAPAN Wallet, Yahoo! JAPAN Shopping, and Yahoo! Auctions have received verification that they have an international-level security in place.
