Ealing

Ealing, in London’s west, is the borough where entertainment history collides with suburbia – and some striking architectural landmarks.

Ealing Studios, the name behind movies likeKind Hearts and Coronets is the oldest continuously operating film studio in the world. Nearby was the site of the Ealing Club. It was there in 1962 that Keith Richard and Mick Jagger first met Charlie Watts and Brian Jones and formed the Rolling Stones.

In the borough’s south lies Southall – the site of London’s biggest Sikh temple, Sri Guru Singh Sabha Gurdwara.

Ealing’s architectural heritage also includes the Hoover Building in Perivale, an art deco landmark that once housed Hoover’s offices and factory but is now a Tesco supermarket.
