Introduction

Georgia was established in 1732 with settlement in Savannah in 1733. It was the last of the thirteen colonies to be founded. It was also the only colony founded and ruled by a Board of Trustees, which was based in London, England, with no governor or governing body within the colony itself for the first two decades of its existence.

This guide compiles links to digital materials related to Georgia such as books, government documents, manuscripts, maps, motion pictures, photographs, sheet music, and sound recordings that are available throughout the Library of Congress website. In addition, it provides links to external websites focusing on Georgia and a bibliography containing selected works for both general and younger readers.
