🔧 Cracking the Case: A Redmine 3 to 5 Migration Success 🎉Migrating from Redmine 3 to 5 should have been a smooth upgrade. Instead, we found ourselves deep in a formatting nightmare that pushed us to the brink of frustration. Here's how we turned it around. 💡The Mystery of the Broken Formatting 🧐The client had battled email formatting issues caused by the initial migration to RedmineX Cloud. The first attempt didn't go well so we rolled back. After hours of effort, the problem persisted: misaligned messages, rogue HTML tags, and endless confusion.We tested everything—plugins, settings, database configurations. Nothing worked. The migration was stuck, and every fix led to another dead end. 🌀The Eureka Moment 💥The breakthrough came in the most unexpected form: the CKEditor plugin. It wasn’t even being used as the default editor, yet its mere presence as an installed plugin caused conflicts with the formatting. 🛠️ Removing CKEditor resolved the issue instantly. Simple, right? But finding the culprit? That took hours of testing, brainstorming, and sheer determination. 😅Why This Matters 🚀This wasn’t just a win for us—it was a victory for the client, who now has a fully functional Redmine 5 setup with clean, reliable formatting. 🙌 And for us, it was a reminder that even small details can wreak havoc, and perseverance always pays off. 🏆If you're facing a tricky migration or puzzling Redmine issue, let’s talk. So we were thinking: right, just giving out a testing tool to developers - that works just fine.But! What if one commit later a developer introduces a bug which breaks the compatibility of the integration? It's not possible to track such things unless you have a very meticulous developer, who remembers that they need to retest manually everything again. And again. And again.
