#OpenDataEditor in action! This video shows how ODE helpedOpen Knowledge Nepal empowering local government staff across municipalities in Nepal. 🚨 Problem: Data was siloed, messy, and hard to use — with inconsistent formats and language barriers. Most staff lacked digital skills, and IT teams were too small to support data work.✅ Solution: By using ODE, OKN automated dataset audits, standardised metadata, and empowered local IT staff to validate data without manual support.🎯 Results:• Reduce error-resolution time• Audit 40+ datasets, fixing 95% of errors• Build capacity with Nepali user guide and IT staff trainingLearn more:https://lnkd.in/daXrFckf 🟦 The Open Data Editor (ODE) is Open Knowledge Foundation’s new open source desktop application for nonprofits, data journalists, activists, and public servants, aiming at helping them detect errors in their datasets. It’s a free, open-source tool designed for people who don’t know how to code or don’t have the programming skills to automatise the data exploration process.Download ODE:https://lnkd.in/deyZvZTm#TheTechWeWant#OpenDataccThe Patrick J. On June 28-29, 2025, with the support of theOpen Knowledge Foundation, Public Lab Mongolia organized two training sessions in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia to introduce the#OpenDataEditor (ODE) tool based on the content of the "Quality and Consistent Data with ODE" developed by the School of Data initiative of the Open Knowledge Foundation. The training attracted the interests of Mongolian open data enthusiasts and practitioners from various fields, including sociology students and practitioners, data analysts, health researchers, university lecturers, civil society, and private sector professionals. Through the training, participants learned about open data definitions, data governance, data standards such as Five Stars of Open Data, FAIR Data, Tidy Data, common data quality issues and ways to fix them, data validation techniques and data cleaning tools. Participants learned to download the Open Data Editor in their chosen operating system and practiced uploading sample datasets, and see and fix errors identified. We hope many individuals and organizations in Mongolia will use the free, open-source, no-code#ODE tool to easily identify and fix errors in their datasets.#DigitalLiteracy#TheTechWeWant#OpenDataDownload Open Data Editor:https://bit.ly/4kmManzRegister for the Quality and Consistent Data course:https://bit.ly/3TTJAuh
