For divers with reduced heart capacity, this can lead to immersion pulmonary oedema.✅ Regular fitness✅ Health screenings✅ Conservative dive planning💡 How does your dive routine prioritise cardiovascular safety?Read more 🔗https://lnkd.in/d2GEwShx#DiveSafety#HeartHealth#FitToDive#AlertDiver#ScubaLife
🌊 Diving often feels effortless — but when conditions shift, it can demand sudden, intense exertion. Your heart and lungs need to be ready.✅ WHO recommends 150 minutes of moderate or 75 minutes of vigorous activity weekly, plus strength training on two or more days.✅ For divers, combining aerobic fitness with strength work is key to resilience and safety.💡 How do you balance your fitness routine for diving?Read more 🔗https://lnkd.in/d2GEwShx#DiveSafety#HealthAndPerformance#ProfessionalDivers

🫧🤿 DCS or DCI — what’s the difference?🔹 DCS (Decompression Sickness): Nitrogen bubbles in tissues/blood, symptoms from joint pain to paralysis.🔹 AGE (Arterial Gas Embolism): Gas enters arteries after rapid ascent, often with stroke-like symptoms.🔹 DCI (Decompression Illness): The umbrella term, since symptoms overlap and both require recompression.⚠️ Risk factors include exercise, cold stress, poor buoyancy, dehydration & congenital heart conditions. Prevention = training + conservative dive habits.💡 How do you manage your DCS/DCI risk when planning dives?Read more 🔗https://lnkd.in/d2GEwShx#DiveSafety#DecompressionIllness#TheBends#AlertDiver#ScubaLife
